the hipster ethos
the new school of art

Art is holy. God's primary function is Creator. To be holy we must like God create. The only evil is destruction. There is good and bad art. Nothing is subjective. Our difficulty in determining exactly what is good and what is better stems from our unclear vision of the ideal, not from any ambiguity in the nature of art itself. The pervasive sense that all art is personal and expressive of some personal experience is a shameful cop-out. Post-modernism is a dead end school. It limits itself and hems the artist inside an inconsequential world. We have definitely learned some things, but it's time has passed and any school attempting to fill the void that positions itself as an outgrowth of po-mo is doomed to irrelevancy. The hipster ethos rejects po-mo. We strive for meaningful art. We strive for perfection. We look beyond mere clever arrangement of objects words or figures into our very souls. It is a spiritual-artistic movement. Our relationship to creativity is our relationship to the universe itself. Art must explore that relationship and enable us to learn how humanity, beauty, evil, corruption, and existence conspire to make reality. Art is the space between science and mystery. Art is the original language of our minds. An individual's life is as important as the most acclaimed gallery piece. To create a life and endow it with hopes and dreams is as vital as anything anyone can do. As such the hipster respects all humanity and belittles none. Individuality will lead us to collective truth.
